For sale is one new, second-grade/irregular: Montblanc Great Characters Miles Davis Special Edition Fountain Pen, Medium Nib, model M25733; made in Germany. Complete with Service Guide, Gift-Case, and Outer Box. This is a new and genuine product.

Condition Note: This pen has a minor manufacturing imperfection. There is a very small, pinprick-sized bump on the clip. It is located on the upper top button near the lower edge. This is a molding imperfection that wasn't completely buffed before the plating was applied. These occur from time to time and occasionally sneak past Montblanc's inspection (I've actually seen it on another Miles Davis in the exact same location).

While not necessarily ideal for the collector, this would be a fine pen for daily use. The effect is quite negligible, and shall be even less so as the pen is used and experiences the typical micro-scratches, etc.. It is otherwise in flawless condition, new, and never used. Please see the two close-up photographs for details. It shows up as a black spot; this is not the tone but merely the color of reflected background (without this reflection, it isn't visible).

Lastly, there is some shelf damage in the form of a tear to the plain white sleeve that protects the primary box, which itself is fine (see third image); it is not unusual for these to be scuffed, etc. As their purpose is for transit and storage wear. The Miles Davis Special Edition Fountain Pen honors the jazz musician with luxurious design that is distinctively Montblanc. Its form is inspired by the image of a trumpet, emphasized by finger buttons on the clip and the mouthpiece cone. The body and cap are black precious-resin with platinum-coated accents, and engraved with symbolic patterns from the five jazz movements Davis helped create.

The medium nib is 14K gold with a special engraving of his silhouette and the year number 2006, the date he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He final touch is the iconic Montblanc snowca. Black precious-resin cap and barrel. Blue cone recalls'Kind of Blue' album. 14K gold nib, size medium.
